Claude vs ChatGPT for a real estate agent's day.
The question I get most from agents is "which one should I use?" The honest answer is that I use four, and the right question is which AI does which job. Here is how a real day splits up.
The short version
| Job | AI | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Morning follow-up, day plan, deal files | Claude | Connects to email, calendar and files, runs on a schedule, holds a voice profile. |
| Branded graphics and post images | ChatGPT | Strong image generation from a prompt written for each post. |
| Listing walkthrough video | Gemini | Video built from MLS photos. |
| Local market radar | Grok | Watches X for employers, builders and development news, drafts a one-page brief. |
7:30 AM: the daily system is Claude
The job that saves the most time is the boring one: read everything that came in overnight, decide what needs an answer, draft the answer, plan the day. That job needs an AI that can reach your email, calendar and files and run on a schedule without you starting it. I built mine on Claude, running from the Claude desktop app, and that is the workflow I have tested on live deals. Other AI tools offer their own connections and scheduling. I have not tested this workflow in them, so I do not set it up there.
The second piece is voice. The setup I build includes a profile from your own sent emails, so the draft to a past client sounds like you, and the draft to a listing agent sounds like you on a deal.
Midday: content is ChatGPT and Gemini
When a listing goes live, I want a Just Listed graphic, a set of post images and a walkthrough video. ChatGPT handles the graphics from a prompt written for each post with the brand colors and the photo baked in. Gemini builds the walkthrough video from the MLS photos. Neither of those needs access to my email, so there is no reason to force them into the daily system.
Before a listing appointment: Grok
A custom Grok bot watches X for local signals, a new employer, a builder breaking ground, a road project, and drafts a one-page brief I can read in the car. It is the only AI I use for live public chatter.
What none of them do in my setup
In my setup, none of them send anything. Every draft waits for me. None of them hold my passwords; each runs on my own account. And nothing calls or texts a consumer on its own. That line matters more than which model you pick.
Do you have to switch?
No. If you already use ChatGPT, keep it for what it is good at. Add Claude for the morning. The Core setup puts it on your own account over one or more screen-share sessions, depending on what we connect.
